Mumbai - Matunga East

Metro Mumbai City district Maharashtra
Thurston (1909) records that Komatis 'are further found in the Mysore State, Bombay Presidency, Berar, Central Provinces, and as far north-west as Baroda', and the Komati caste article lists Maharashtra among the states where the community is primarily found, with Marathi-speaking Komatis as a recognised sub-group. The only Mumbai institution located in this pass is the Kanyaka Parameshwari temple at Matunga East - the single Arya Vysya feature returned for the whole of Maharashtra.
