Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari

The patron goddess of the Arya Vysya community. Her temples, satrams and sangams are how this community left its mark on the map — and they are how we found it again: 998 of them are recorded on this site, each with the source that documents it.

Her kshetram is Vasavi Penugonda in West Godavari, which the district government calls “the Kasi of Vysyas”. Andhra Pradesh officially renamed the town from Penugonda on 31 December 2025.
