Documented people
Real individuals found in published sources — gazetteers, inscriptions, encyclopaedias and biographies — each one shown with the sentence that documents them. Nobody here has been placed in a family tree, and none of them count as members of this site. They are candidates: a starting point for the family that recognises its own.
594 people
213 community stated in a source
16 implied only
408 matched to a house name
435 distinct sources
Why three grades. community stated means a source
says in words that the person was Arya Vysya, Vysya, Komati or Vaisya — that
sentence is printed on the card. community not stated
means a documented person with a plausible connection but no source that actually
says it. community implied sits between the two:
there is a quoted sentence, but a weak one — an award from a community body,
or a line saying the community helped the person rather than that he
belonged to it. Deleting these would hide what we found; promoting them would be
invention. They are kept, labelled, and never quietly upgraded.

A devotee of the Vaishnavaite saint Ramanuja, he gave much of his wealth to charity, and the thesis calls him the pioneer among the several donors of the Arya Vysya community. Warangal, Warangal, Telangana
Rice-mill owner, philanthropist and social reformer
Telugu Wikipedia, citing Eenadu and Namasthe Telangana, states he was born on 28 November 1904 at Warangal into a Vysya family and died on 26 August 1967. It states he built general wards and staff quarters at the Nizam's Sarkaria hospital (later renamed the Chanda Kanthaiah Memorial maternity hospital), and that in 1944 he joined the Kaloji brothers and others to fund the Andhra Vidyabhivardhini school, opened 29 November 1945. The same article states he founded an Arya Vysya Sangham, built a Vysya hostel and gave financial help to a Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari temple, and that the Nizam personally honoured him with the title 'Darje Awwal'. The Tejomurthulu chapter on Bhupathi Krishnamurthy calls Krishnamurthy his 'viyyankudu' (co-father-in-law), a tie this schema has no field for. Srikakolapu Venkata Rao

Cocanada (Kakinada), East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh
Importing and general merchant (stationery importer)
Called as a witness before the Madras Provincial Banking Enquiry Committee and recorded in the oral evidence volume as 'M:.R.Ry. SRIKAKOIAPU VENKATA RAO Garu, Merchant, Cooanada' (OCR of Srikakolapu / Cocanada). He told the Committee he was importing stationery from England and doing general trade, that he kept his money in the newly opened Andhra Bank, and that Vaisyas lent on personal security while Marwaris would lend only against pledged jewels. Asked what the chief industries of Cocanada were he answered 'There is only the oil industry', that 'Most of the factory holders are Vaisyas', and when the Committee put to him 'Arc you a Vaisya by caste?' he answered 'Yes'. HE IS THEREFORE A NAMED, SELF-IDENTIFIED VAISYA MERCHANT TESTIFYING THAT THE OIL FACTORY HOLDERS OF COCANADA WERE OF HIS OWN COMMUNITY - the closest this whole gap came to putting a name next to the Andhra oil industry. NOTE: he identifies himself as a trader, NOT as an oil mill owner; do not record him as a mill founder. All quotes are raw OCR, errors included. [EVIDENCE DEPTH: PERSON - self-anchored: the witness is named in the header and answers the caste question himself in the first person.
