District headquarters and municipality; headquarters of one of the district's three revenue divisions. Telugu Wikipedia records a local etymology deriving the name from 'peta', the Telugu word for a market or trading quarter, plus 'Siddhi' - the town is remembered as an early commercial centre. Its principal tank is called KOMATI CHERUVU (Komati tank), now developed as a mini tank bund, with a Rs 25 crore Siddipet Shilparamam tourism centre being built in the Komati Cheruvu area on the bypass road. That toponym is the only direct Komati / Vysya trace found for the town. A model Rythu Bazaar also operates here. No Arya Vysya temple, satram or sangam in Siddipet town itself is attested in the sources reached.
