Bheemili. Former municipality merged into GVMC (Wikipedia says 2017). Documented trading port: one of the major Dutch settlements of the Dutch Coromandel coast in the 17th century, later an East India Company trading base, with a Dutch-era mint; perfumes and textiles were exported. Temples: Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami (c. 14th c.), Bheemeswaralayam and Choleswaralayam (Chola period).
