Hyderabad

Metro Hyderabad district Telangana
Largest single concentration of the Arya Vysya / Komati community today. Hyderabad's historic wholesale trading quarters (Begum Bazaar, Sultan Bazar, Koti, General Bazaar, Afzal Gunj) are well documented as merchant quarters, but the published sources consulted attribute those specific bazaars to Marwari, Gujarati, Jain, Rajasthani, Parsi, Mudaliar and Anglo-Indian merchant families and do NOT name Komati / Arya Vysya traders in them. A scholarly reference to 'indigenous financiers, Komatis, in the Deccan' exists but was behind a paywall and is not cited as confirmation. Documented community presence in Hyderabad therefore rests on its institutions - Vasavi Clubs International (founded here in 1961), Vasavi Seva Kendram (1971), and the Kanyaka Parameswari temples - all recorded in this file.
