Village
YSR Kadapa district
Andhra Pradesh
Small village in the Nallamalais near the road to Porumamilla, recorded in the 1915 Cuddapah Gazetteer under Proddatur taluk. The Gazetteer states it 'was formerly of some importance, but it is said that owing to the prevalence of malaria the rich Komatis who once lived here migrated to Vanipenta about eighty years ago' - i.e. around the 1830s. Included under the village tier only for this documented Komati merchant history. Its present-day mandal was not established, so mandal is left null rather than guessed.
