Secunderabad

Locality Hyderabad district Telangana
Founded 1806 as a British cantonment on the village of Ulwul north-east of Hussain Sagar; renamed in 1803 by Nizam Sikandar Jah after himself. 'Various new markets such as Regimental Bazaar and General Bazaar were created' for trade, and the cantonment's exemption from customs duty on imported goods drew traders. The Wikipedia article names Anglo-Indians, Mudaliars of Tamil Nadu, Rajasthani traders, Parsis and Sikhs among the trading communities; it does NOT name Komati / Arya Vysya. The community's link to Secunderabad is documented instead through the Kanyaka Parameswari temple at Hyderbasti and the Vasavi Club Secunderabad chapter.
