Largest urban concentration of Arya Vysya trading families in the region (institution list below carries the sourced entries). Madras District Gazetteers, Vizagapatam Vol. I (1907), p.229: a lawsuit is recounted between 'a Komati owner of a vessel and his Muhammadan skipper' over accounts, evidencing Arya Vysya ship-owning merchants at the Vizagapatam port.
