V. V. Puram (Vishveshwarapuram)

Locality Bengaluru Urban district Karnataka
The strongest concentration of Arya Vysya place-naming anywhere in Bengaluru: a street called Vasavi Temple Road, a second street called Vasavi Vidyaniketan Road, a Vasavi temple, a Vasavi school and a Kanyaka Parameshwari building all within a few hundred metres, in the planned extension immediately south of the old pete and adjoining Basavanagudi. Vasavi (Vasavi Kanyaka Parameshvari) is the kuladevata of the Komati / Arya Vysya community (Rice Vol. I: 'the chief object of reverence is the goddess Kanyaka Paramesvari'), so this cluster is a strong indicator of a settled Arya Vysya quarter. All evidence here is OpenStreetMap ground survey rather than documentary; no gazetteer, government or institutional page confirming the temple's foundation date or governing trust was reachable.
